Associate Vice President and Director of State Relations, University of Georgia Office of Government Relations
Toby Carr serves as the Associate Vice President for Government Relations and Director of State Relations for The University of Georgia. In this role, he is the primary liaison between the university and state government officials. Carr represents UGA in all matters with state government officials, agencies, departments, and other higher education institutions in Georgia.
Prior to joining the UGA Office of Government Relations, he served as Director of Planning for the Georgia Department of Transportation and as Governor Nathan Deal’s liaison to the State Transportation Board and GDOT. Carr previously served as Governor Deal’s transportation policy adviser and as the Deal administration’s liaison to the House of Representatives of the Georgia General Assembly.
A 2001 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia, Carr holds bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Engineering and Finance. Inducted as a member of UGA Blue Key Society while a student, Carr received the group’s prestigious Young Alumnus Award in 2012.
