Julie Secrist, PE is the Director of Civil Engineering with Planners and Engineers Collaborative in Norcross, Georgia. Ms. Secrist leads multiple design teams for all civil department projects including site development, residential, large-scale mixed-use and commercial developments.
She is an expert in hydrology, site design and development, and has more recently diversified her expertise to include aviation planning and design. She has managed major expansion projects at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and is noted for her use of green spaces in large-scale site development.
Following graduation from the University of Georgia in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Julie accepted a series of leadership positions with the American Society of Civil Engineers Georgia Section; as the current Vice-President, she serves on the Georgia Board of Directors and is a member of the National Committee on Advancing the Profession. Ms. Secrist also serves on the Board of the Georgia Engineering Foundation as Scholarship Chair and Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group Leadership Committee. In 2015, the American Society of Civil Engineers Georgia Section honored Ms. Secrist by awarding her the Young Civil Engineer of the Year Award. And in 2017, she was awarded the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers Young Engineer of the Year Award for the state of Georgia. In 2018, Julie was chosen for UGA’s 40 Under 40 Class and awarded Young Civil Engineer of the Year for the southeast region of the United States.
