Amanda serves as a Community Engagement Specialist focused on collaborations that promote equity, entrepreneurial imagination, and innovation in manufacturing. Amanda serves the MODEL Research Group to coordinate educational initiatives, build strong partnerships with local organizations, schools, and community stakeholders, and leverage agricultural communities in the southern region. Amanda’s focus is to find opportunities to elevate women and historically under-served communities in the areas of manufacturing and advancements in agriculture.

Amanda’s background is in agricultural research and Extension, including working with both large-scale agricultural producers and small-scale farmers to implement sustainable production on the farm while promoting human welfare and a healthy ecosystem. Amanda earned her master’s in science in entomology from Washington State University, has served on the board of a nonprofit in Idaho for farmer advocacy, has a background in K-12 education, has been the founder and owner of a small business, and has worked in areas of civic engagement in the State of Georgia. Amanda also serves on the College of Engineering’s Inclusive Excellence Committee to support students, staff, and faculty in Engineering.
