Mable Fok appointed assistant dean for academic and faculty affairs

Mable Fok, professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been appointed as the new assistant dean for academic and faculty affairs in the College of Engineering, effective November 15.

“I am very excited that Dr. Fok will lead the academic office and we look forward to working with her in advancing our academic programs and faculty affairs,” said Ramaraja Ramasamy, senior associate dean.

In this new role, Fok will oversee the college’s undergraduate, graduate, and faculty affairs, such as promotion and tenure processes. She will work closely with the school chairs, graduate coordinators, undergraduate coordinators, other assistant deans, and various campus partners. Fok will represent the College of Engineering on various university level committees, including the associate deans’ committees of the Graduate School, Office of Instruction, and Office of Global Engagement. She will also oversee the college’s Academic Office.

“I am honored to be appointed as the assistant dean for academic and faculty affairs. I am eager to collaborate with our administration team,  faculty, and staff to advance the academic excellence of our college,” said Fok. “I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Ramasamy for his dedicated service over the last six years. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping our college’s success. I am looking forward to working with him in this new capacity.”
