UGA Engineering’s Dr. Birgisson collaborates in national resilience framework project for Qatar

The Pearl of Doha in Qatar aerial viewDr. Bjorn Birgisson, Chair of UGA’s School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering, is serving as the integrator for Texas A&M University at Qatar’s (TAMUQ) cluster project which aims to build a comprehensive national resilience framework for Qatar. The project was awarded the National Priority Research Program grant in the cluster track by Qatar National Research Fund.

Dr. Birgisson, along with collaborators from TAMUQ, Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar Petrochemical Company, and various governmental stakeholders, aims to solve complex, interdisciplinary research problems that require a holistic approach, with larger teams and strategic management to steer sub-projects toward achieving an impactful outcome.
