Dr. Cotten led the design, integration, and testing of two CubeSat missions in UGA's Small Satellite Research Laboratory, an undergraduate student lab consisting of more than fifty team members. He is interested in using his physics and biometeorology background in conjunction with remote sensing to improve knowledge of regional scale processes, specifically focusing on carbon storage and using unmanned aerial vehicles to further expand imaging capabilities.
