Senior VP, KCI Technologies, Inc.

Bayne Smith serves as a South Region Executive for KCI Technologies, Inc. KCI is a 100% employee-owned engineering, consulting and construction firm serving clients throughout the United States and beyond. KCI provides turn-key expertise to federal, state and municipal agencies as well as institutional and private sector clients. Prior to joining KCI Technologies, Bayne spent 14 years in various roles with the Georgia Department of Transportation most recently serving as Director of Field Districts and District Engineer. He also previously served as a Vice President of Business Development with AECOM.

Bayne earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia. He is a registered Professional Engineer. Throughout his career, Bayne has been active in a number of technical societies including serving as past president for the Georgia Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, a member of the board of directors for the Intelligent Transportation Society of Georgia and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia, and a member of the Transportation Research Board. He has been honored by the Institute of Transportation Engineers with the Carl Bevins Outstanding Engineer and Joseph Thomas Outstanding Young Member awards.
