A 2013 graduate of the University of Georgia, Jones holds a B.S. degree in BioChemical Engineering from the College of Engineering. While at UGA, he served as senator for the College of Engineering and was inducted into UGA’s Blue Key Society. In 2013, he received both the Black Engineer of the Year Award for Student Leadership and the Outstanding College of Engineering Student Award. In 2020, Jonathan earned his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a double major in Supply Chain Operations and Marketing.
Jonathan currently serves as the Director for Materials Development for Global Kids Footwear at Nike Inc. The primary focus of his team is the development of new materials that meet performance needs while delivering on aesthetic goals. Prior to this role, Jonathan has spent the last decade working on sustainable solutions for materials and chemistries in footwear, as well as in agricultural products at Nike Inc, Corteva Agriscience, and Dow Chemical Company. He current works at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, OR.
Jonathan is Six Sigma Project Leader with a focus on optimization and streamlining technical developments to commercialization. Over his professional career, Jonathan has received numerous awards including two Dow Chemical Company Technology Center Awards and a Corteva Innovation Technology Award. He is the recipient of the 2018 Eugene M. Deloatch Legacy Award and the 2020 Modern Day Technology Leader award at the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA). In addition, Jonathan is a member of UGA Alumni Association’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2018 and the 2021 UGA Young Alumni of the Year, representing his personal, professional, and philanthropic achievements.
