Technical Director, Corporate Research & Engineering, Kimberly-Clark

Sridhar Ranganathan is the Technical Director for Corporate Research & Engineering (CR&E) at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. His professional expertise is in the area of transport phenomena especially related to porous media. Sridhar has been with Kimberly-Clark since 1995. During this time, he has had a range of assignments from early explore to development through scale up across multiple technology areas including absorbent materials, nonwovens, indicators and sensors. Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark, he had a post-doctoral appointment with the Polymers Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where his research focus was on flow of polymeric fluids in porous media as applied to automotive and aerospace composites manufacturing.

Sridhar has a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (Madras) and a doctorate from the University of Delaware, both in Mechanical Engineering. He has more than 30 granted United States patents on topics including novel absorbents, new classes of materials and sensors. His research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and he has co-authored chapters in two monographs on the topic of polymer composites. He currently serves a reviewer for the journal Research and Technology Management.
