Students examine environmental challenges during study trip to India

Student with water structureStudents from the University of Georgia College of Engineering learned about the environmental engineering challenges facing India during a study trip to the state of Tamil Nadu.

During the two-week visit, 10 students and six faculty members from the College of Engineering worked alongside chemical engineering students and faculty from SRM University in Chennai, one of India’s leading universities. The students visited the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, GMR Power Corporation, Koyambedu Vegetable Market and other sites in Chennai, Coimbatore and Karur.

Officials from the two universities also signed a memorandum of understanding, reaffirming their commitment to student and faculty collaboration.
