Academic Advising
Academic advising is essential to your experience at UGA. You’re required to meet with an advisor each semester before registering.
Our College of Engineering Academic Advisors assist with questions about advisement, curriculum, graduation requirements, and career planning. Remember, selecting courses to meet degree requirements is ultimately your responsibility, and staying informed on engineering academics is key. Your advisor is a valuable resource to help you achieve your goals.
Prepare for your advising appointment
Before your advising appointment, review your academic progress and familiarize yourself with degree requirements and policies. Each student is responsible for managing their coursework and understanding their own academic path. To make the most of your appointment, please complete the following:
- Draft a tentative schedule for the upcoming semester, paying special attention to prerequisite or co-requisite requirements.
- Note that some courses are only available in specific semesters or have prerequisites..
- Review the schedule of classes in Athena
